Delaware, Ohio Carnegie Library The Carnegie library building in Delaware, Ohio. It was one of over 2,500 libraries funded by Andrew Carnegie throughout the world. According to the book Carnegie Libraries of Ohio by Mary Ellen Armentrout, in 1902 Andrew Carnegie responded to a letter from Delaware resident T.C. Jones by pledging $20,000 for a library. The library, to be located at 101 N. Sandusky St. , was designed by Columbus architect John M. Marriott. It was built in 1906 next to the Delaware County Courthouse.
