Description |
Andrews House, previously Jane M. Case Hospital and the fraternity. This Greek Revival Style house was built in 1845 by Hiram Griswold Andrews as his home. Mr. Andrews operated paper mills in Stratford, a small community just South of Delaware. After serving for a time as the Lybrand home, whose family owned the Delaware Chair Factory, the building was converted for use as Delaware's first hospital in 1904 and served until 1928 when the hospital moved to larger quarters as the west edge of Delaware. It is now owned by St. Peters Episcopal Church and is used as a multi-faceted community service center. |
